Morning Program
Our school day begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 12:30 p.m. We offer a choice of 2, 3, 4 or 5-day programs for both Beginners and Preschoolers. Our flexible scheduling allows parents to choose the days that work best for them.
The atmosphere at Great Expectations Preschool is friendly and open. A large portion of each day is dedicated to interest driven exploration both indoors and out. Children are encouraged to move freely through the various learning centers, interacting with peers and teachers, and actively investigating the many open-ended materials available to them. A definite structure exists within this informal setting. Children feel confident knowing that choice time, meeting, snack, outdoor play, lunch and story time occur every day in a predictable order.
Great Expectations Preschool accepts children from 2 through 5 years of age. The grouping of our four classrooms is done by age. Two highly qualified co-lead teachers trained in Early Childhood Education lead each class. There are nine children in our Beginner class and fifteen or sixteen children in each of the preschool classrooms. We welcome children to join our community at any of our four age groups.
The school offers options for both early drop off and extended day. Extended time at school allows children the opportunity to socialize and explore new areas and activities in small, mixed age group settings. Early birds and extended day may be used on a regular or occasional basis.
