Enrichment programs are scheduled regularly throughout the year. These programs include drama productions, animal demonstrations, puppet shows, science programs, community helpers, and musical performances. Additionally, weekly enrichment programs led by specialists are built into our curriculum. The day of the week is varied so that all children have the opportunity to participate. These programs include the following:
The teachers at Great Expectations integrate music into the curriculum every day. In addition, a 30-minute class led by a professional musician is held biweekly in each of our four classrooms.
A 30-minute yoga session, led by a professional children’s yoga instructor, is held biweekly in each of our four classrooms.
Our in-house Spanish teacher visits each classroom weekly to explore Spanish in a fun, low-key manner. With bilingual books, props, games, songs, and movement activities, children explore the Spanish language and culture.
Our resident storyteller shares wonderful homemade flannel board tales from the classics to current favorites such as The Three Little Pigs, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Trashy Town, and Bear Snores On.
